About
Therapeutic Approach

My therapeutic philosophy centers around creating a safe and supportive space where clients can feel understood and empowered to explore their thoughts, feelings and life experiences, without judgment. I believe in the importance of building a strong therapeutic relationship based on trust and mutual respect.

In my practice, I integrate evidence-based practices tailored to each individual's unique needs and preferences. I incorporate CBT, DBT and mindfulness based approaches into session. I also help you consider the ways in which your past experiences and relationships have influenced your current challenges. I believe the combination of both practical skills and a deeper understanding of yourself will help you make the changes needed to live a more meaningful life.

Whether you're struggling with anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, problems managing your emotions, feeling stuck, or just repeating ineffective coping strategies, I'm here to help you figure things out. Together, we'll work towards achieving your goals and fostering lasting behavioural change in your life.
Training Background
I received my Ph.D. in counselling psychology at The University of Denver and completed both my pre-doctoral internship and post-doctoral fellowship at Northwestern University’s Counselling and Psychological Services in Chicago, IL. My clinical experience focused on adults, college students and adolescents struggling with depression, anxiety disorders, adjustment disorders, stress, women’s issues, interpersonal difficulties, relationship challenges, life changes, patterns of ineffective coping strategies and self-esteem.
After returning to Vancouver in 2014, I completed a second post-doctoral fellowship in Dialectical Behaviour Therapy at the DBT Centre of Vancouver, where I spent an additional four years providing comprehensive DBT treatment involving individual and group therapy.
